The challenge
Euramax Cladding runs its business processes on an InforLN ERP. Over the years, a need arose for extra functionality on a number of core processes, such as transport, quality and production, and for a modern, web-based layer on top for sales, planning and the shop floor. At every step the principle was the same: build onto the existing ERP, don’t replace it.
What we have built on InforLN since 2000
Using InforLN’s own tooling, we developed a series of modules that integrate tightly with the ERP:
Transport module: planning and registration of transport around production and delivery.
Quality module: recording and following up quality checks within the production process.
Production module: support for Euramax’s specific production steps.
After twenty-five years, these modules are still in daily use.
A Wercstat framework layer on top, since 2021
From 2021, we built a Wercstat ERP layer on top, for processes that come into their own better in a modern, web-based environment:
Sales orders.
Material planning.
Production planning.
Inter-company orders.
Stock scanning on the shop floor.
The application is fully integrated with the existing InforLN ERP. Master data, stock and orders stay in one place; users work in the environment that best suits their role, without data being recorded twice.
In production 24/7
Euramax also produces in night shifts, so the application runs 24/7. Availability and stability are therefore non-negotiable: any interruption directly affects the production floor.
Partnership
Euramax shows how long a well-chosen architecture can last. The original InforLN modules have been running for a quarter of a century; the new Wercstat framework layer adds modern functionality without the ERP beneath it having to give way. Throughout, Wercstat is the ongoing technical partner: from the first InforLN custom work in 2000 to today’s 24/7 production support.
